Why This Role Matters
As Sales Manager, you will drive revenue growth and expand Monterey Nutra’s branded ingredient portfolio within nutraceuticals and dietary supplements. You will represent the company’s science‑backed ingredients, build relationships, close deals, and support strategic partnerships across North America.

What You’ll Own
Revenue Growth & Sales Execution

Drive sales of Monterey Nutra’s branded ingredients to supplement manufacturers, contract manufacturers, and functional food brands.

Meet or exceed revenue targets through strategic account management and new customer acquisition.

Maintain a strong sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasting and reporting.

Develop pricing strategies and prepare quotes, proposals, and contracts in collaboration with internal teams.

Key Account Management & Relationship Development

Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision‑makers in nutraceutical and dietary supplement companies.

Deeply understand client needs in branded ingredients, private label, and contract manufacturing environments.

Actively manage relationships with brokers, distributors, and sales representatives.

Travel to develop and strengthen customer partnerships (25–40% travel).

Industry Expertise & Market Expansion

Identify and pursue new business opportunities within nutraceuticals, sports nutrition, herbal supplements, nutritional nutrition, nutricosmetics, and functional foods.

Stay current on market trends, competitor activity, and emerging health categories.

Represent Monterey Nutra at trade shows, conferences, and industry events.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Partner with Operations, Product Development, Quality, and Regulatory teams to ensure seamless execution from sale to delivery.

Understand production lead times and customer specifications to ensure successful fulfillment.

Provide feedback to leadership regarding customer trends, competitive positioning, and growth opportunities.

Presentation & Product Positioning

Deliver compelling presentations highlighting ingredient science, clinical substantiation, and differentiation.

Conduct product education sessions and support marketing initiatives.

Continuous Learning & Compliance

Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulatory and quality requirements within the nutraceutical and dietary supplement industries.

Ensure all sales activities align with regulatory standards and company policies.

What’s the Right Fit

Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Food Science, Nutritional Science, or related field preferred.

5–7+ years of proven sales experience in the nutraceutical, dietary supplement, or functional ingredient industry.

Established professional network within the branded ingredient and nutraceutical industry.

Demonstrated success selling branded ingredients to supplement manufacturers and contract manufacturers.

Solid understanding of private labels, contract manufacturing, and ingredient commercialization.

Working knowledge of dietary supplements regulatory and quality requirements.

Possesses sufficient technical knowledge of functional mushroom or nutraceutical ingredients to communicate product benefits and scientific concepts.

Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with Regulatory, Operations, and Quality teams.

Proficiency in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office Suite.

Must reside in California (West Coast).

Ability to travel 25–40%.
