Summary of Position:
Assists Landscaping Manager in supervising and overseeing daily operations of the Landscaping Department.
Essential Functions:
Support and organize the daily activities of the crew to ensure timely completion of priorities
Assist crew in daily maintenance i.e., trimming, planting, sprinkler repairs, new installations and property cleanliness
Conduct property tours, critique and delegate accordingly
Train new team members
Assist guests and give directions
Maintain shop cleanliness
Maintain trucks and equipment to ensure that they are in proper working order at all times
Other tasks as assigned by the Landscaping Manager, Assistant Directors of Property Operations, Director of Property Operations and/or the General Manager
Qualifications:
Education:
High school or GED equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Five (5) years previous landscaping experience.
Certificates or Licenses:
Valid Driver's License and clean motor vehicle record. License checks will be
conducted periodically.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of lawns, shrubs, trees and flowers and their needs for survival
Able to see and correct problems such as pests and disease
Knowledge of sprinkler systems
Able to lift, push and pull items 20 - 90+lbs.
Able to walk, stand, kneel and bend for extended periods of time
Ability to motivate the crew/fellow team members
Able to work during adverse weather conditions and tolerate extreme weather (90% of time is spent outdoors)
Able to understand and communicate repair challenges and able to assist crew with challenges
Knowledge of equipment and tools used in landscaping including sprinkler systems
Skills in planning and organizing
Excellent in verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Able to listen, effectively accomplish task, and speak clearly
