Join the nationally recognized team at the MD Anderson Cancer Center as a Program Coordinator within our Translational Molecular Pathology department. This opportunity is ideal for an organized, proactive administrative professional who excels in a fast‑paced academic research environment and enjoys supporting faculty, research programs, and departmental operations.
The hybrid schedule for this position is 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
Responsibilities
Provide advanced administrative and operational support to departmental leadership and assigned faculty.
Coordinate complex calendars, meetings, travel arrangements, teleconferences, and departmental events.
Prepare agendas, presentations and meeting materials and document minutes and action items.
Serve as liaison among faculty, principal investigators, grants teams, administrative teams, and internal and external stakeholders.
Support onboarding, orientation, system access, asset coordination, and departmental time‑keeping.
Coordinate trainings, workshops, conferences, symposia, research retreats and other programmatic events.
Maintain departmental databases, communications and administrative resources.
Coordinate visa‑related documentation (J‑1 and H‑1B) and immigration processes for international staff.

Serve as primary or backup timekeeper, ensuring accurate time entry and compliance with institutional deadlines.
Visa Coordination and Support
Prepare, coordinate, and track documentation for J‑1 and H‑1B visa processes for classified staff.
Collaborate with institutional offices to ensure timely and accurate submission of required documentation and compliance activities.
Education
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
Preferred: Master’s Degree.
Work Experience
Required: 3 years of project/program coordination experience (or 1 year of experience with a Master’s degree) and may substitute required education degree with additional experience on a one‑to‑one basis.
Preferred: 5 years of administrative experience, including 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity in a patient‑care environment.
