Position Summary

The primary location of this position is on-site in Cullowhee, NC. This position is designated as being subject to the State of North Carolina Human Resources Act (SHRA)

This position serves as a multi-media technician for the Ramsey Regional Activity Center. This position has responsibility for the operation of the Ramsey Center's sound system, video projection and graphic display systems. This includes set up, operation, storage, and maintenance of all technical and production equipment.

Work also includes but is not limited to technical support for events and day-to-day operation of Ramsey Center. Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, orienting, training and supervision and evaluation of student and temporary staff necessary for the operation of the Ramsey Activity Center. The multi-media technician will share responsibilities with other facility staff with regard to front-of-house operation responsibilities.

This position performs technical work coordination and the operation of sound and lighting equipment for events and performances. Employee is required to analyze program and event needs to determine proper course of action essential to providing desired sound reinforcement and graphic display requirements.

Duties require sustained periods of concentration during events and performances. Working knowledge of Event Cad Programs (i.e. Vectorworks) for event spacing and layout is beneficial. This position will be expected to work weeknights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by the facility schedule.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
Knowledge of audio reinforcement, intelligent lighting control, graphic display equipment, and their current technologies
Knowledge and understanding of electronics and their various components
Understanding of event production
Ability to operate a forklift

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in audiovisual equipment operation and maintenance, graphic design, and/or photography; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
