About this Role
The Station Manager offers critical support and guidance to their direct and indirect reports. The individual is accountable to ensure operation teams minimize dwell at origin/destination and execute financial tasks timely and accurately. The individual shall coach the team to focus on controlling costs to achieve improved GP per shipment. The Station Manager is the 2nd level escalation for service failures and must support cross-functional teams as needed to operate a flexible business (e.g., peak season, PTO, sick leave, maternity/paternity leave).

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership :

Maintain constant 1v1 sessions (minimum 4 per month).

Coach, mentor, guide, train, and maintain accountability with direct reports.

Facilitated in alignment with HR

Station Manager shall participate with direct reports in holding their respective teams accountable.

Lead (or nominate a leader) for Operations Team fortnightly huddle.

Customer Satisfaction :

Participate in Voice of Customer (VoC) results.

With support from their direct report, document CAPA (Corrective Action / Preventative Action) with guidance from stakeholders (CX, Commercial, LCL Export/Import Specialists, Product, and LCL Finance and Analytics team).

Supply Chain Management :

Monitor direct reports’ execution regarding dwell:

Export: Origin Dwell, Target

Import: Destination Dwell, Target
Received in Import Warehouse / Final CFS to Delivery.

Familiarize yourself with Customer Rate Cards / Quotations to focus on Transit Time performance.

Compliance :

Ensure all bonds are closed (within 2 days of Arrival) if we coordinated the bond per In-Bond IOP.

Export Clearance audits must be completed for 10 random shipments per month.

Finance :

Drive healthy financial execution within Global KPI expectations.

Cost accruals must be entered into CargoWise within 4 business hours following the service request.

Familiarize with customer rate cards/quotations. Identify if “Unhappy Flow” costs are billable and add the corresponding Revenue Accruals prior to Soft Close.

Avoid payables by entering cost accruals timely and accurately at time-of-service request.

Avoid any payables older than 30 days

Achieve Soft Close timeliness of 100% each month, based on Soft Close KPI’s and month end process.

Support the Network :

Drive proactive and timely communication with direct reports. Responses to other colleagues should be provided no later than the next business day.

Accountabilities :

Be proactive and not reactive.

Show ownership of responsibilities.

Be diligent with record-keeping on financial tasks.

Be vocal when necessary.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required

Quantitative experience of related activity 8+ years

Knowledgeable on Freight Forwarding operations and finances

Core Competencies: Financial Awareness, Integrity, Analytical Skills, Attention to Detail, Coaching, Communication & Self-Motivation, and Discipline

Efficiency with MS software/tools

Experience with CargoWise One software

Domestic travel is expected for
Compensation & Benefits

Base salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000 USD*

Commission: Paid quarterly, based on gross profit performance with no cap

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
