TODAY Digital, the multi-platform arm of America’s favorite morning show, is looking for an
Associate Producer
for a Tuesday - Saturday position.
This is an opportunity to join the team behind TODAY's digital video presence. The Video Team is the backbone operation that gets show video onto all our digital platforms. Whether it's social, on-net or OTT, video clips from the show are what our audience seeks out when they can't tune in during the live network broadcast. We provide a near real-time experience for them so that they don't miss a moment. With our experience, technical skills, and sharp editorial judgement, we also provide crucial support to other TODAY Digital units including our streaming channel and original video teams.
This position is represented by the News Guild – NY CWA.
Responsibilities
:
Clipping and publishing video from the TODAY Broadcast.
Ability to write engaging, accurate and SEO-friendly headlines, captions and stories around visual content
Maintaining and editing best practices for video publishing processes.
Selecting strong images from video and still image feeds, photo editing across platforms, advising programming producers on best available media.
Strong metadata organization and QA.
Representing editorial stakeholders in troubleshooting technical processes.
Evaluation of an adherence to Rights and Clearances guidance; Management and execution of R&C media processes.
Providing quality control for video distribution on editorial channels and with partners and platforms like YouTube, AOL, Hulu, Apple TV, Xfinity and Roku.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience producing/editing/promoting multimedia content on the web.
Bachelor's degree in journalism or other discipline emphasizing storytelling and multimedia creation
Strong video editing skills across desktop, mobile, tablet and social.
A deep understanding of how images and videos are shared and consumed on digital, social and mobile platforms.
Expertise in non-linear editing systems (e.g., Avid, Final Cut) with a working knowledge of Photoshop.
Proficiency in web-based video publishing programs such as Wildmoka
Proven news judgment, high ethical standards and strong interpersonal skills.
A high degree of independence, decisiveness, and accountability, with the ability to effectively multitask and work with minimal supervision.
Must be willing and able to work flexible hours under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news, and be prepared to work holidays and overtime on short notice.

Additional Job Requirements:
Hybrid
: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office in New York a minimum of four days per week.
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

Salary range:
$75,000 - $85,000
