A well-established law firm is seeking a seasoned Managing Partner to help build and lead its national civil litigation practice. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced litigator or practice leader who is looking to move beyond a traditional law firm structure and play a key role in shaping the future of a high-growth organization.
This role will partner closely with executive leadership to drive litigation strategy, expand into new markets, build high-performing legal teams, and support long-term growth initiatives and acquisitions. The ideal candidate is both a strong trial attorney and an entrepreneurial leader who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategy and oversight for a growing portfolio of complex civil litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions
- Build, mentor, and manage teams of attorneys and legal professionals to support national growth initiatives
- Develop and implement litigation processes, operational standards, KPIs, and risk management protocols
- Supervise and advise on high-exposure cases from intake through trial or resolution
- Partner with executive leadership on growth strategy, market expansion, and integration of acquired practices
- Foster relationships with referral partners, co-counsel, and industry stakeholders to strengthen market presence and business development efforts
- Support the development of a scalable, high-performing litigation platform focused on operational excellence and client outcomes
Qualifications
- 15+ years of civil litigation experience, including significant trial and case management exposure
- Prior experience in a leadership role such as Managing Partner, Practice Group Leader, or Senior Litigation Counsel
- Strong business acumen with the ability to make strategic decisions related to firm growth, staffing, and risk management
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment
- Demonstrated success mentoring attorneys and developing high-performing legal teams
- JD from an accredited law school and active Arizona bar admission (or ability to obtain promptly)
- Additional state bar admissions are a plus
- Portable book of business welcomed but not required
Compensation and Benefits
- $250,000 - $320,000+ (based on experience)
- Discretionary bonus (based on performance)
