Overview

We’re partnering with our client, a creative agency, to find a talented Account Director. This permanent role is ideal for experienced professionals passionate about delivering exceptional client services. The position offers the flexibility to work hybrid from NYC or Atlanta, CA — perfect for those who thrive in dynamic, collaborative environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of client accounts, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive agency services.
  • Manage large-scale projects from strategic planning through creative development and final production, with a focus on email marketing.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with senior-level clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and partner agencies to drive brand growth and project success.
  • Oversee project finances, including scope, estimates, invoicing, and ensuring timely billing.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in creative agency account management, including small agency experience
  • Strong experience in digital marketing and email marketing platforms/campaigns (Salesforce Marketing Cloud nice to have)
  • Experience supporting eCommerce or digital clients in a 360° advertising environment
  • Proven ability in project scoping, pricing, and overall account strategy
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with strong strategic thinking
  • Lead digital strategy, client relationships, and production efforts (starting with email, expanding across channels)
  • Own client deliverables including pitch decks, status decks, and process creation
  • Oversee project execution, production, and workflow management (e.g., Workfront, routing to dev teams)
  • Deep expertise in email and lifecycle marketing, including creative direction and content strategy
  • Experience with Salesforce (including personalization) and general platform capabilities
  • Strong client-facing skills with ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders (e.g., CMOs)
  • Background in fast-paced agency environments, managing day-to-day client interactions
  • Experience leading or mentoring teams, with readiness to step into or grow at Account Director level
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to balance client service with behind-the-scenes execution
  • Strong problem-solving, pitching, and collaboration skills
  • Self-starter who thrives in high-expectation, fast-paced environments

Travel and Location Details

  • Some travel requirement, no more than 10-15% of the time.
  • Candidates would spend some time on-site at clients, primarily remote if in Atlanta, or hybrid in NYC.
  • Regardless of location, candidates would spend some time during the year in the other city (NYC or Atlanta).
