Mission: DoD Engagement Management
The mission of the DoD Engagement Management team is to "Deliver with Excellence: PLAN, EXECUTE, CONTROL, BUDGET, STAFF, and COMMUNICATE with Excellence." We're seeking a highly skilled and versatile Senior Engagement Manager to lead the delivery of complex cloud solution projects that make a real difference for our Department of Defense customers.

What You'll Do
Technical Expertise & Solution Leadership

Combine technical expertise with strong project leadership to drive successful AWS-based solution implementations

Apply AWS frameworks (Well-Architected, Cloud Adoption Framework) and multiple delivery methodologies (Agile, Scaled Agile, Waterfall, ITIL)

Distill customer needs into clear technical requirements, decompose complex problems, and make informed trade‑off decisions

Validate technical solutions against business goals, participate in architectural reviews, and manage technical risks

Achieve and maintain relevant AWS certifications and develop domain-specific expertise (migration, database, healthcare, financial services)

Project & Program Management Excellence

Create and lead comprehensive project plans for teams spanning AWS, customer, and partner resources

Define and enforce delivery quality standards and engagement security protocols

Facilitate release planning, align outcomes, build executable roadmaps, and organize complex workstreams

Proactively identify and manage risks, resolve issues, escalate appropriately, and drive projects to successful completion

Redirect distressed programs to delight customers and accelerate progress by clearing blockers

Strategic Communication & Influence

Lead complex business and technical discussions, effectively communicating concepts to both technical and business audiences

Build strategic relationships with appropriate stakeholders and overcome customer obstacles

Build consensus, harmonize conflicting views, and drive resolution of contentious issues

Communicate data‑driven decisions judiciously to leadership and customers

Identify and shape pre‑sales opportunities

A Day in the Life
You lead complex cloud projects for Department of Defense customers—modernization programs, classified system migrations, and AI/ML capabilities for defense operations. You're leading daily standups, sprint planning sessions, and backlog grooming with your delivery teams. You facilitate technical exchange meetings, sprint reviews, and demonstrations for stakeholders. You're troubleshooting technical issues, aligning military IT leaders and program managers who navigate strict security requirements, and conducting long‑range planning sessions. You coordinate AWS specialists, solutions architects, and partner companies while advocating for project personnel and resources. You control project budgets, communicate with stakeholders and customers, and identify and mitigate risks constantly. You mentor other engagement managers, turn around distressed projects, and establish best practices.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of leading the delivery of IT projects with external customers or equivalent experience

5+ years of program or engagement management work leading other project managers to deliver a program with multiple and concurrent projects experience

1+ years of working as a Scrum Master or Product Owner across multiple cross‑functional teams experience

3+ years of cloud computing experience

Experience in leading the delivery of IT projects with external customers or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

Project management certification (e.g., APM, CSM, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2)

AWS certification

Knowledge of the value proposition of the public cloud and cloud engagement delivery (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)

Experience working with and presenting to C‑level executives, IT, and lines of businesses across organizations or equivalent

Benefits and Compensation
The base salary range for this position is 131,200.00 - 177,600.00 USD annually, located in USA, MD, Jessup.

Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
