Responsibilities
Provide general and specific direction, management and control of the Department of Health and Human Services/Community Mental Health Services Programs (CMHSPs)/Prepaid Inpatient Health Plans (PIHPs) contract management, compliance, monitoring, and oversight processes. Ensure consistency of statewide contracts and compliance with legislative and departmental policy, federal statutes, regulations, and waivers. Monitor and address PIHP and CMHSP compliance with contract requirements, including financial performance, administrative functions, and system outcomes. Oversee quality reporting, encounter reporting, and financial reporting processes. Manage financial activities related to the distribution of mental health and other categorical grants. Address questions and concerns that arise regarding the behavioral health system.
Qualifications
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Two years of experience as a professional manager or program/staff specialist, or equivalent experience.
Alternatively, completion of high‑school plus three years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level, or two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level may substitute for the education and experience requirements.
Work Location and Conditions
The position is located at 400 South Pine Street, Lansing, Michigan. Remote work or a hybrid schedule may be considered based on operational needs, provided the applicant remains within Michigan. Remote workers must maintain a secure work location, a high‑speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload, and suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
