Job Summary
Are you a storytelling powerhouse with a passion for news and a flair for the dramatic? WVVA in Bluefield, WV— a Gray Local Media station— is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic weekend news anchor to lead our weekend news team three days a week across all platforms.

Responsibilities

Command the weekend newscasts with charisma, credibility, and magnetic presence.

Produce compelling shows that captivate viewers.

Guard journalistic ethics, making sound news judgments.

Connect seamlessly with viewers and colleagues across all platforms.

Develop local sources, pitch story ideas daily, and build community ties.

Shoot, write, edit, and deliver coverage for every platform.

Appear on air and orchestrate dynamic live shots.

Use social media to discover, develop, and deliver stories that spur audience engagement.

Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field (preferred).

Two years of multi‑platform reporting, shooting, and editing experience.

Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Curiosity and enthusiasm for storytelling.

Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
