Job Summary
This position provides technical support for internal and external events, including access to, training on, and support of equipment and functionality of rooms.

Essential Functions

Management of event spaces and equipment,
Access, training, and support for event organizers, including weekdays, nights, and weekends.
Collaborate with event organizers to understand technical requirements and specifications for each event.
Manage audio-visual setups, lighting arrangements, and other technical components.
Coordinate the setup and configuration of audio-visual equipment, ensuring all technical aspects are in place before the event.
Conduct pre-event equipment checks and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise.
Be available during events to provide on-site technical support and address any technical challenges that may arise.
Work closely with the event coordinator, technology staff and vendors to ensure the smooth operation of technical equipment.
Work with external vendors and technical service providers to source required equipment and services.
Conduct training sessions for event staff and volunteers on the operation of technical equipment.
Maintain clear communication channels with all stakeholders to ensure everyone is informed about technical aspects and changes.
Identify areas for improvement and implement changes for future events.
Support the processes and efforts of the administrative services division, including print shop, surplus and inventory operations.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years' experience in event support and management OR three years' experience in event support and management.
Strong knowledge of audio-visual equipment, lighting systems, and other event-related technologies.
Ability to work in a high-demand, customer service oriented, stressful environment.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as events require.
Or, if you do not meet one or more of qualifications listed above but have an applicable combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:

AA degree.
Training in A/V event management.
Experience creating digital content (such as Word/PDF documents and web and learning management system content as appropriate to the role) in accessible formats.
Bilingual to Spanish and English.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Demonstrated ability to use exceptional communication and interpersonal skills demonstrating professionalism, empathy, diplomacy, discretion, and integrity in interactions with diverse constituencies.
High level of proficiency and accuracy in software packages including word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
Experience with PeopleSoft software preferred.
Quality: Accurate and thorough, prepare detailed reports, evaluate processes to identify ways to improve and promote quality.

Terms of Employment:

The current vacancy in technology is a full-time, overtime and benefit eligible position expected to begin as soon as possible.

The starting salary hiring range is $44,736 annually ($21.43 per hour) to $50,328 annually (24.10 per hour) with periodic increases and earning potential to $59,844 annually ($27.96 per hour) . The list established by this recruitment will be active for this position only.

Work Schedule & Environment:

Work hours are generally 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; hours and days may change depending on the needs of the college.
Work in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions and distractions.
Regular and consistent attendance required.
