Senior Director of Development, Fisher College Of Business
Overview
The Senior Director of Development will understand the mission, needs and value proposition of the university and the Fisher College of Business (FCOB) and build relationships with prospective donors to increase philanthropic support. The role focuses on managing a portfolio of prospective donors for major gifts of $100,000 and above.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and cultivate a portfolio of prospective major‑gift donors.
- Develop and implement strategic gift solicitations and proposals.
- Sustain relationships and steward donors to further enhance engagement.
- Travel frequently, typically one or two overnight trips per month, with regular in‑state travel and occasional evening and weekend work.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Advancement, the university, and Wexner Medical Center.
- Lead and develop assigned staff, providing daily management and oversight.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Meet annual performance metrics such as number of qualifications, cultivations, solicitations, commitments, and dollars raised.

Performance is measured by the number of qualifications, cultivations, solicitations, commitments, and dollars raised per fiscal year, with expectations tailored to experience and portfolio size.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Six (6) years of relevant experience, including at least four (4) years of professional fundraising and two (2) years of related experience in marketing, sales, public relations, financial advisement, or account management.
Desired Qualifications
- At least six (6) years of professional fundraising experience raising high‑level philanthropic gifts (preferably five‑ or six‑figure gifts).
- Experience in higher education or a hospital/health care environment.
- Experience working in other advancement departments such as donor relations, stewardship, donor communications, or alumni relations.
Benefits & Additional Information
Competitive salary up to $105,000, based on internal equity and qualifications.
Travel requirements: one to two overnight trips per month, regular in‑state travel, and occasional evening and weekend work.
This position is designated as a standby position under the Disaster Preparedness and University State of Emergency Policy 6.17.
Shift: First Shift.
