Job Overview
The Sr. Manager, Procurement / E&PS is responsible for leading procurement strategy and execution for Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) at DePuy Synthes. This role ensures effective sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization for facilities, capital projects, engineering services, and site‑based operations. The position plays a critical role in enabling business continuity, operational excellence, and long‑term value creation through strong supplier partnerships and disciplined procurement practices during a period of organizational transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement strategy and execution for Engineering & Property Services, including facilities management, capital projects, maintenance, and engineering services.
- Partner closely with E&PS, Operations, Finance, and Site Leadership to align procurement strategies with business and operational priorities.
- Drive sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations, and supplier selection to achieve cost, quality, and service objectives.
- Manage supplier performance, governance, and risk for critical E&PS vendors and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, financial controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and develop a high‑performing procurement team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, standardisation, and value creation across E&PS spend categories.
- Support site expansions, capital investments, and transformation initiatives through effective procurement planning and execution.
- Lead and support digital solution deployment and day‑to‑day management of digital order channels, telephony, and CRM tools where applicable to E&PS operations.
- Define and measure KPIs for solutions and channels; utilise data analytics to identify improvement areas and optimise channel and product performance.
- Drive vendor and partner relationships for digital and service providers and manage related budgets.
- Facilitate cross‑functional collaboration with Commercial, Legal, Compliance, Data Science, and Commercial Operations to inform solution strategies and integrations.
Where Required To Be Managed Locally
- Document handling: print, stamp/seal, mail/ship, distribute, and route documents for wet signatures.
- Records management: store/archive/retrieve HR documents; fulfil requests; coordinate off‑site storage; scan and name for Veeva.
- Compliance/admin: upload/submit filings; print and hand‑deliver to agencies; support audits and on‑site audit coordination.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
Required
- Typically 8–10 years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or operations roles.
- Demonstrated experience managing procurement for facilities, engineering services, or capital projects.
- Strong contract negotiation, supplier management, and cost‑optimisation skills.
- Proven ability to partner effectively with technical, operational, and financial stakeholders.
- Experience leading teams in a matrixed or multinational organisation.
- Minimum 10+ years working experience in Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Digital Health, IT, or Engineering.
- 8+ years of healthcare industry experience required.
- 5+ years of people‑management experience with direct reports required.
- Strong collaboration, partnering, and negotiation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with a strong and flexible work ethic.
- Excellent planning and organising skills.
Preferred
- Experience in medical devices, life sciences, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience supporting large manufacturing or distribution sites.
- Exposure to global procurement frameworks and governance models.
- Experience supporting organisational transformations, site expansions, or capital investment programmes.
- Professional certification such as CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, manage, and coach associates.
- Experience managing cross‑functional teams, projects, or initiatives.
- Knowledge of orthopaedic products preferred.

- Travel – up to 20% domestic travel.
- Certifications – procurement or supply‑chain certifications preferred.

Pay
- Anticipated base pay range: $150,000.00 – $258,750.00.
- Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
- Position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long‑term incentive programme.

- Vacation – 120 hours per calendar year.
- Sick time – 40 hours per calendar year (48 hours if residing in Colorado; 56 hours if residing in Washington).
