Adjunct Dance Instructor
We are hiring part‑time adjunct faculty for the Dance department at College of the Canyons. The instructor may be assigned to the Valencia or Canyon Country campus, or other college teaching locations. The position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of students in achieving their educational goals.

Responsibilities
Service

Assume leadership roles within the department and the institution as needed. Commit to serving the needs of the student, department, college, and community. Collaborate across disciplines and utilize student support resources. Participate in department, division, college committees, and participatory governance activities.

Participate in curriculum and program development.

Work collegially and collaboratively within the college community.

Participate in ongoing professional development.

Teaching

Create a dynamic learning environment that values instructor/student interaction.

Effectively engage and facilitate authentic learning for students of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences.

Adapt teaching pedagogy to the knowledge of each individual and class, and self-reflect and respond to an evidence‑based assessment of student learning.

Integrate new technologies into the learning process, including interactive technologies for on‑campus and online courses.

Communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Qualifications and Minimum Requirements

Unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Dance.

Or Master’s degree in dance, physical education with a dance emphasis, or theater with dance emphasis.

Or Bachelor’s degree in the above fields plus a Master’s degree in physical education, any life science, physiology, theater arts, kinesiology, humanities, performing arts, or music.

Or equivalent: official transcript documenting completion of a Master’s degree from an accredited institution and additional 24 semester units in the discipline at an upper‑division or graduate level, with at least 12 graduate level semester units.

Benefits
Adjunct salary rate: Starting at $89.24 per hour.

Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening) and Saturday classes.
