Job Overview
Position: Adjunct Dance Instructor – Applicant Pool. Continuous recruitment on fiscal year basis for department assignments. Teaching assignments may be at Valencia, Canyon Country or other college locations. Part‑time faculty positions are as needed and do not accrue tenure rights.

Duties
Service

Assume leadership roles within the department and institution; serve student, department, college, and community needs.

Collaborate across disciplines and utilize student support resources; participate in committees and governance activities.

Participate in curriculum and program development.

Work collegially and collaboratively within the college community.

Engage in ongoing professional development.

Teaching

Create a dynamic learning environment that values instructor/student interaction.

Effectively engage and facilitate authentic learning for diverse students.

Adapt teaching pedagogy to individual and class needs; self‑reflect and respond to evidence‑based assessment.

Integrate new technologies into the learning process, including interactive technologies for online and on‑campus courses.

Communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Qualifications and Minimum Requirements

Unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Dance.

OR Master’s degree in dance, physical education with a dance emphasis, or theater with dance emphasis.

OR Bachelor’s in those areas AND Master’s degree in related fields (physiology, kinesiology, humanities, etc.).

OR Equivalent: Official transcripts showing completion of any Master’s degree from an accredited institution AND at least 24 upper‑division or graduate‑level units in the discipline, including 12 graduate‑level units.

Conditions of Employment
Assignments may include Monday‑through‑Friday (day and evening) and Saturday classes.

Adjunct salary rate starts at $89.24 per hour.

Offer subject to verification of all information, credential/transcripts, background clearance, tuberculosis screening, proof of eligibility to work in the United States, and Board of Trustees approval as required.
