As a Senior Technical Consultant at Elastic, you will partner closely with customers to deliver impactful Elastic solutions and provide deep expertise across the Elastic Stack. In this role, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers shape strategy, design architecture, and plan capacity for mission-critical environments.
The ideal candidate is technically strong, proactive about continuous learning, and highly effective at building trusted customer relationships.
What You Will Be Doing

Lead and manage Elastic consulting engagements, both remote and on-site, to help customers maximize the value of Elastic products.
Architect, implement, and configure Elastic solutions with a focus on platform architecture, solution design, and capacity planning for mission-critical environments.
Serve as a customer advocate by building strong relationships and ensuring clear communication and collaboration throughout engagements.
Develop and deliver demos and proof-of-concepts that highlight the value of the Elastic Stack.
Perform data modeling, query development, optimization, and cluster tuning to support scalable, high-performance search and analytics use cases.
Partner with other consultants to solve complex technical challenges in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Review and approve technical consulting reports that clearly communicate project outcomes and recommendations.
Mentor and coach consultants through enablement programs, shadowing, and ongoing training.
Participate in technical interviews to help assess and onboard new consultants.
Thrive in a remote, highly distributed team environment while supporting periodic on-site engagements.
What You Bring

Willingness to work onsite in the Albany, NY area during the first year, with an expected schedule of 4–5 days per week onsite and the remaining time remote.
At least 3 years of experience as a consultant or technical instructor in client-facing engagements.
Proven ability to work with customers to gather requirements, plan solutions, and deliver technical outcomes aligned with business needs.
At least 5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer/Administrator, Network Engineer/Administrator, Cloud Engineer/Administrator, or in a similar role.
Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing solutions using Elasticsearch or similar distributed data technologies.
Strong knowledge of Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems, including command-line interfaces.
Familiarity with information retrieval and analytics domains.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience with OpenTelemetry (OTel).
Programming experience in at least one language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or Ruby.
Experience working with databases and data platforms such as SQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, MongoDB, or similar NoSQL technologies.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new Elastic technologies.
Experience on SIEM knowledge, Visualizations, Dashboards, ES|QL, KQL, SQL
Bonus Points

Active clearance is not required, but it is a plus.
Experience as a technical instructor or public speaker presenting enterprise infrastructure software topics to technical audiences.
Certifications or hands-on expertise with technologies such as Ansible, GitHub, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Redis, or major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Familiarity with network data, cybersecurity data, and system logs.
A degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Elastic certifications, such as:
Elastic Certified SIEM Analyst
Elastic Certified Analyst
Elastic Certified Observability Engineer

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component.
The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.
These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.
An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
