Position Overview

The Marketing Manager plays a key role in advancing Camp Fire Minnesota’s mission by weaving together youth voice, inclusive storytelling, and community engagement across all digital and print communications. This position leads organization-wide marketing efforts and ensures that the voices of young people are central to how Camp Fire shares its impact. This role supports the execution of the Development & Communications Plan and coordinates storytelling that elevates youth experiences, equity, and access to nature.

Storytelling & Content Strategy
Develop and manage an annual storytelling calendar that highlights key events, achievements, and narratives, ensuring consistent and engaging content across platforms.

Write, manage, and update website content that reflects Camp Fire’s brand and mission, regularly updating pages to keep information current and relevant.

Build and maintain a comprehensive photo and video library, including digital assets and testimonials, for use across social media, the website, and print materials.

Attend Camp Fire events to capture photos and video content for marketing and storytelling, helping build a strong visual library of Camp Fire experiences.

Digital Communications
Oversee and execute social media and newsletter communications across departments, crafting compelling stories and posts while engaging audiences to strengthen Camp Fire’s online presence.

Marketing Materials & Design
Design and produce print and digital advertisements that are visually appealing, on‑brand, and effectively communicate key messages.

Co‑own relationships with ad partners and continually evaluate strategy and value alignment.

Design and collaborate to maintain and update bilingual signage across 103‑acre property.

Create, edit, and design all branding documents for a variety of organizational needs, ensuring clarity, professionalism, and visual appeal.

Manage design requests from departments across the organization, producing high‑quality materials that align with Camp Fire’s brand and messaging.

Support tabling and outreach events by creating marketing collateral that effectively shares Camp Fire’s story.

Vendor & Partner Coordination
Manage relationships with printers and other vendors to ensure the timely production of high‑quality materials while maintaining strong working partnerships.

Event Marketing
Play a central role in planning, designing, and producing materials for year‑round events that clearly communicate Camp Fire’s mission and inspire support.

Organizational Support
Maintain a working knowledge of Camp Fire’s programs and initiatives.

Provide excellent customer service to participants, families, and community partners.

Perform other duties as needed.

Oversee and maintain the organization‑wide photography waiver process, ensuring forms are clear, accessible, regularly updated, and developed through a trauma‑informed approach in collaboration with program staff.

DEI
In collaboration with staff and stakeholders, ensure marketing and communications efforts are inclusive, equitable, and reflective of Camp Fire’s values.

Opportunity to serve on Camp Fire’s DEI Committee to move forward strategic goals and initiatives.

Continue learning and growing alongside the Camp Fire team as we integrate Community‑Centric Fundraising principles into our organizational practices.

Experience and Qualifications
3+ years of events marketing experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong computer skills including demonstrated experience with Canva, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint. Experience with InDesign and customer relationship management system, a plus.

Ability to comfortably adjust from working independently to a team‑based environment.

Spanish language proficiency preferred.

Experience with photography and/or videography, including capturing and editing visual content for storytelling and marketing.

Experience working in youth development, outdoor education, or nonprofit environment.

Salary and Benefits

Salary range $48,000‑$58,000 based on experience. Competitive benefits package, including 3% retirement contribution and sabbatical policy.

Location & Work Environment

Combination of remote + on‑site. Our camp property is located at 3300 Tanadoona Dr, Excelsior, MN 55331 and is an open, coworking environment. Employee will also need accessible transportation to attend meetings and events as needed across the Twin Cities metro.
