Role Description
This is an on-site role for an Audio Visual Technician, located in Ronkonkoma, NY. The Audio Visual Technician will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audio-visual equipment such as sound systems, video walls, lighting systems, and video conferencing tools. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting AV systems, ensuring high-quality visual and audio experiences, and collaborating with event teams to meet the unique needs of each event. The position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to adapt in dynamic event environments.
Qualifications
Proficiency in operating and maintaining Audio Visual (AV) systems and equipment
Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving technical issues efficiently
Experience performing sound checks, EQ adjustments, gain structure optimization, and live mixing throughout events
Knowledge of audio, lighting, and video systems, including their setup and optimization
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Prior experience in the events or production industry is a plus
Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed
Prior experience in corporate events, concerts, or general event production
What we're looking for:
Strong understanding of audio signal flow, system troubleshooting, and speaker deployment
Proficiency with digital mixing consoles
Knowledge of wireless microphone systems, DSPs, amplifiers, and live playback systems
Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced event environments
Strong communication skills and a professional, client-facing attitude
Ability to lift and move production equipment safely
Availability for evenings, weekends, and flexible event schedules
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
