Job Summary
The Communications and Data Specialist supports the district's communication efforts and student data systems through accurate information management, digital content updates, and assessment support. This position plays a key role in ensuring timely communication with stakeholders and maintaining the integrity of district data systems. This is a non‑exempt, hourly position reporting to the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology.

Position Responsibilities

Communications & Public Relations

Manage and maintain the district's social media platforms, ensuring consistent, engaging, and appropriate content.

Create and publish content highlighting district programs, events, and achievements.

Monitor social media activity and direct inquiries to appropriate staff as needed.

Assist with development and distribution of district communications (e.g., newsletters, announcements, alerts).

Ensure communications align with district branding and messaging standards.

Website & Digital Content Management

Update and maintain the district website, ensuring information is accurate, accessible, and current.

Conduct routine audits of website content for accuracy and compliance.

Collaborate with staff to post updates and maintain building/department pages.

Support development of new web content and digital communication tools.

Data & Assessment Support

Support District Assessment Leaders with data entry, verification, and reporting tasks.

Assist in coordinating district‑wide assessment processes, including scheduling and materials preparation.

Generate basic reports to support instructional and administrative decision-making.

Ensure timelines and data submissions meet state and district requirements.

Student Data Management

Maintain and update student information systems with a high degree of accuracy.

Review data for discrepancies and work with staff to resolve errors.

Assist with state reporting processes as directed (e.g., enrollment, assessment, or other required submissions).

Maintain confidentiality and security of student and staff data at all times.

Collaboration & Support

Provide support and guidance to staff on data entry procedures and communication tools.

Work collaboratively with building and district staff to ensure effective information flow.

Perform other duties as assigned to support district communication and data needs.

Compensation & Schedule
Hours: 40 hrs per week (2080 annual hrs)

Salary: $23 - $27 per hour (depending on qualifications)
