As our Senior Product Manager for the App, you will steward the product vision and lead the team carrying a year-long rearchitecture through to launch — then help chart what comes next.
The BibleProject app is where our most dedicated audience reads Scripture, studies in community, and accesses our full resource library. After nearly five years in the wild, the app has a refined vision and a strong team. You'll guide a cross‑functional group to build experiences rooted in three convictions:
Read the Bible with our support. The app should be the best place to read Scripture with the unified‑story lens that defines our work — beautifully, thoughtfully, and with the scholarship our audience expects.
Study in community. Our curriculum, guides, and questions are designed for groups and individuals alike. The app should make communal study feel natural and inviting.
Find resources that aid further study. BibleProject is a trusted, go‑to resource. The app should be the most convenient way to find the right content at the right moment.
To be successful, you'll bring strong product instincts, technical fluency, and the ability to keep a team energized and aligned through the long middle of a rebuild. In all your work, you'll bring your skills and experience to help further our mission of helping people experience the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leadership
Steward the product vision, roadmap, and priorities for the app in tight collaboration with the Group Product Manager.
Translate research, analytics, and audience feedback into clear decisions, balancing organizational capacity and the principle of doing fewer things better.
Champion the user and make sound trade‑offs between scope, quality, and timeline alongside engineering.
Be a tastemaker — the app should reflect the beauty and quality of the BibleProject brand in both aesthetic and philosophy.
Bring energy to remote meetings and facilitate working sessions that drive clarity and forward motion.
Keep the big picture visible and the team motivated through the long middle of a rebuild.
Responsibility
See the rearchitecture through to launch, and help chart what comes next.
Give engineers and designers the context they need to make good decisions independently.
Own your project management — keep Jira organized and useful without turning the team into a ticket factory.
Hold Agile rhythms with enough flexibility to serve momentum and enough structure to stay aligned.
Bring tenacity to capturing decisions, chasing loose ends, and communicating them to the right people at the right time.
Expertise
Apply systems thinking to the full mobile experience — performance, offline behavior, accessibility, and more.
Hold your own in technical conversations; engineers should want to think out loud with you.
Understand native iOS and Android constraints, app store dynamics, and release rhythms well enough to plan realistically.
What We're Looking For
Required
5–8+ years of product management experience, with meaningful time on consumer mobile (native iOS and/or Android).
A track record of shipping mobile experiences that an engaged, returning audience genuinely relies on.
Strong technical fluency — you don't need to have written production code, but you should be a real partner to engineering.
A real partner to peer functions like Marketing, Scholarship, and Audience Care; you build relationships patiently and bring partner teams into the work early, not after the fact.
Excellent written and verbal communication; proven ability to document decisions and communicate them clearly.
Self‑sufficient project management skills — can keep work organized without over‑engineering process.
Tenacity through ambiguity, long timelines, and the hard middle of a rebuild.
Passion for the Bible and BibleProject's mission, with sensitivity to both seekers and seasoned students.
Nice to Have
You're already a user of the BibleProject app and a fan of our work.
Experience thoughtfully integrating AI into your craft and helping teams adopt it well.
Background in educational, nonprofit, or faith-based products.
Exposure to content‑heavy apps with media playback.
Familiarity with mobile analytics, experimentation platforms, and app store.
