Applied Research Solutions is seeking a Systems Modeler to provide support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/PEO Digital Directorate Aerospace Management Systems Division (AFLCMC/ESA). The Aerospace Management Systems Division programs, develops, delivers, and sustains air traffic management, CNS/ATM avionics expertise, and weather sensing/forecast capabilities enabling military, civil, and allied and foreign military sales customers to achieve their mission.
The candidate will provide Systems Modeler support that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of system-based engineering to the acquisition process.
This is a full-time position located at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA.

Responsibilities
In this Advisory & Assistance Services (A&AS) role, the candidate will provide non-inherently governmental support to DoD programs by delivering technical expertise in systems engineering, digital modeling, and architecture development. The role contributes to mission success by supporting program execution, ensuring compliance with DoD standards, and enabling informed decision-making through digital engineering practices.
Duties Include, but are not limited to:
Develop, author, and maintain system architecture, network, and data flow diagrams for complex meteorological and communication systems
Lead and execute Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities using SysML, UML, and tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler
Create and manage digital engineering artifacts including accreditation boundaries, system topologies, and federated enterprise models
Brief senior government leadership, program managers, and technical teams on architecture designs, model progress, and technical solutions
Mentor and train personnel on MBSE methodologies, digital engineering environments, and toolsets
Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and FFRDC partners to ensure model federation and architectural alignment
Support cybersecurity and system authorization efforts, including development of documentation for IATT and ATO processes
Analyze technical challenges and develop innovative solutions using digital modeling techniques

Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Citizenship:
Must be a US citizen
Clearance:
Must have and be able to maintain a Secret level Clearance
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a professional engineering discipline with 3 years directly related experience 3 must be within the DoD,
OR
7 years of directly related experience 5 of which must be in the DoD
Experience:
Experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect (EA)
Familiarity with Mermaid or additional UML-based modeling tools
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Groovy for model integration and automation
Experience supporting cybersecurity accreditation efforts (IATT, ATO)
Prior experience in DoD or Air Force program environments

The expected annual salary range: $115k - $130k. Salary is dependent upon the role and associated responsibilities, candidate's experience, and qualifications to include education/training, and key skills.
