Job Summary
The Standard Missile‑6 (SM‑6) Production Director is responsible for leading the FY27+ multi‑year production program for the Naval Shipboard Missile Systems portfolio at RTX, driving production plan execution, throughput growth from 120 to 500 missiles per year, and transition to a new configuration.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with NSMS directorates to ensure successful transition to production of a new configuration.
- Set program priorities, resolve conflicts and barriers, implement gates and lead major reviews with the customer.
- Coordinate and align interactions, dependencies, and transactions between customers and other performing parties to execute the production plan required to grow throughput.
- Manage profit and loss, Annual Operating Plan (AOP) development and execution, and program Estimate at Completion (EAC).
- Lead proposal development for the FY27+ multi‑year production program.
- Define program tasking and milestones; monitor adherence to cost, schedule, technical performance, and factory/supplier readiness.
- Champion program management best practices for production execution.
- Coordinate and align interactions among customers, suppliers, and internal performing organizations.
- Lead change management activities, including proposing and implementing constructive changes.
- Travel up to 30% for domestic business engagements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 14 years of relevant experience or 10 years with an advanced degree in a related field.
- Prior experience executing large‑scale production programs, including factory readiness, supplier readiness, and configuration transitions.
- Prior experience leading cross‑functional teams across engineering, operations, contracts, finance, and supply chain.
- Experience with risk & opportunity management and earned value management.
- Experience with rate‑ramp planning, industrial base growth, and producibility improvement.
- Experience managing program financials, including EACs, AOP, and profit and loss.
- Knowledge of contract formation, execution, and management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- U.S. citizenship is required; an active, transferable Secret‑level security clearance is required prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications
- Raytheon Program Management Certification Level3 or ability to obtain within a year.
- Demonstrated program execution experience managing program staffing, assignments, and resources.
