Location: San Ramon, CA (Hybrid – 3 days a week in office)
Reports To: Technical Publications Manager
About the Role

We are looking for a Technical Writing Specialist who is excited about creating high‑quality product documentation in an AI‑first documentation environment. In this role, you will help create and maintain documentation for enterprise SaaS products while using Generative AI tools as part of the documentation workflow. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, UX, and Customer Success teams to produce documentation that is clear, accurate, and useful for customers.
What You’ll Do

Create and maintain product documentation such as user guides, online help, and release notes.
Use Generative AI tools to help draft, summarize, and improve documentation while ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Review and refine AI-generated content using strong editorial judgment.
Work with Product Managers, Engineers, UX designers, and Customer Success teams to understand features and user workflows.
Follow documentation standards for style, structure, and terminology.
Contribute to structured and modular documentation using templates and content reuse practices.
Support documentation review and publishing workflows across global teams.
Required Qualifications

4 years of experience writing or supporting documentation for software products (internships and academic projects welcome).
Strong written communication skills with attention to clarity and detail.
Understanding of documentation fundamentals such as task‑based documentation and user‑focused content design.
Experience with SaaS or enterprise software products.
Ability to learn new systems and technical concepts quickly.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Schedule flexibility to support collaboration with global teams across different time zones.
AI & Modern Documentation Skills

Experience using Generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, etc.) for drafting, editing, summarizing, or improving written content.
Ability to evaluate and refine AI-generated output rather than relying on it blindly.
Interest in exploring how AI can improve documentation quality, speed, and consistency.
Comfort experimenting with new tools and documentation workflows.
We are not looking for writers who simply copy AI output. We are looking for writers who know how to guide AI and improve its results.
Nice to Have

Familiarity with structured authoring tools (e.g., Arbortext or similar).
Exposure to Markdown, docs‑as‑code, or content management systems.
Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
How to Stand Out

Writing samples or a documentation portfolio.
A short note describing how you have used AI in your writing workflow.
An example of documentation you admire and why.
Optional but encouraged: Include a short example (200–300 words) showing how you used an AI tool to improve or generate documentation. Briefly explain the prompt you used, what the AI generated, and how you improved the result.
Salary: $70,000 - $88,000 (anticipated annual range). Compensation may vary based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Candidates may be eligible for a performance-based bonus and the employee share purchase program (ESPP). Other benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off and sick leave, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) contributions and employer match, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability coverage, and commuter subsidy for office‑assigned employees.
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds with diverse identities and experiences.

We comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding discrimination, including the Massachusetts lie detector law. We respect your privacy and handle personal information responsibly.
