About the Role
California Post, a digital‑first news organization backed by the legacy of the New York Post, seeks a results‑driven local Ad Sales Account Executive to join our Los Angeles team. This individual‑contributor position focuses on driving new business, managing client relationships, and delivering revenue growth with a strong emphasis on local and regional advertisers.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a sales strategy to drive revenue growth across digital advertising, sponsorships, and brand partnerships, emphasizing local and regional accounts.
Identify, prospect, and secure new clients across key local verticals, including automotive, casinos & gaming, real estate, hospitals & healthcare, legal services, and other service‑based businesses.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local advertisers, agencies, and regional stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal teams—marketing and editorial—to craft integrated, custom advertising solutions tailored to local market needs.
Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, RFP responses, contract negotiations, and post‑sale account management.
Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipelines, and CRM data.
Stay up to date on industry trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities to advise clients and position California Post as a trusted local media partner.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of advertising sales experience, preferably within media or digital news organizations.
Demonstrated success selling to local or regional advertisers across verticals such as automotive, gaming, real estate, healthcare, or professional services.
Proven ability to prospect, close deals, and consistently exceed revenue targets.
Strong network of media and advertising contacts in the Los Angeles market.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
Location / Work Arrangement
Note:
This role is primarily based in our Los Angeles office. Occasional remote work may be permitted, with the expectation of on‑site presence for core team collaboration and client‑facing activities.
Compensation
$100,000 – $125,000 base salary plus commission/sales bonus plan, with final salary determined by market practice, internal equity, experience, tenure, and essential skills.
