Job Description
The Digital Media Coordinator supports the technological and digital media needs of the Turbomachinery Laboratory, with responsibilities including website maintenance, event software management, content distribution, and on‑site technical support for the Turbomachinery & Pump Symposia.
The Turbomachinery Laboratory (Turbo Lab) conducts fundamental and applied research in rotordynamics, thermal fluids, combustion, and computational design. The lab’s annual Turbomachinery & Pump Symposia and biannual Asia Turbomachinery & Pump Symposium provide key outreach and industry collaboration opportunities.
Responsibilities
Complete website updates and performance monitoring for the Turbo Lab’s three sites; ensure compliance, accessibility, and maintenance.
Consult with Senior Program Manager on distribution of proceedings and content for symposia, including securing dependable delivery methods.
Coordinate with TAMU Library Services on loading and formatting proceedings for public consumption via Oaktrust.
Lead the build, optimization, and troubleshooting of Turbo Lab’s registration and program submission software (Aventri), providing technical support and platform enhancements.
Assist in developing and testing a mobile app for symposia, publishing, monitoring, and improving user experience.
Provide on‑site registration and technical support at the annual Turbomachinery & Pump Symposia, managing vendor relations and badge printing.
Extend support to the Center’s activities throughout the calendar year beyond the main symposia.
Serve as primary IT compliance contact for Turbo Lab staff, handling tickets, monitoring shared email addresses, and managing equipment inventory.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in website design, software systems operation/optimization, and programming.
Preferred knowledge of WordPress site management and related technical tasks.
Technologically savvy with troubleshooting, coding, search engine optimization, and rapid learning of new systems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, mobile apps, repository maintenance, and accessibility practices is a plus.
Team player who can interact effectively with university personnel and industry contacts.
