CNN International Senior Producer
The CNN International Senior Producer plays a critical leadership role in shaping the editorial vision and execution of live and pre‑produced overnight weekend programming. Partnering closely with the Executive Producer and Supervising Producer, this role drives story selection, editorial framing, and overall presentation to deliver compelling, high‑quality newscasts.

The Senior Producer also serves as a key operational leader within the control room, ensuring seamless execution under daily and breaking news conditions, and acts as the primary backup to the Supervising Producer when needed.

Role Accountabilities

Partner with the Supervising Producer and anchor to plan, develop, and execute weekend and weekday overnight programming

Lead the creation of dynamic rundowns that reflect strong editorial judgment, distinctive angles, and audience relevance

Collaborate closely with anchors to shape interviews, scripts, and key editorial moments

Guide and support the production team, helping to prioritize coverage and elevate storytelling

Maintain rigorous quality control across all elements of the broadcast, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and editorial integrity

Take the lead in the control room during live broadcasts, including high‑pressure breaking news situations

Contribute to forward planning and editorial strategy, by identifying upcoming stories and finding relevant guests/experts

Step in for the Supervising Producer as needed, ensuring continuity of leadership and execution

Qualifications & Experience

5+ years of experience producing live news programming

Strong knowledge of international news, current events, and business news

Proven control room expertise with daily line‑producing experience

Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams in fast‑paced environments

Excellent editorial judgment, with a clear understanding of news value and story development

Ability to perform effectively under pressure, particularly during breaking news

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, overnights, and weekends
