Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for an Associate Director, AI Marketing Enablement to be located in Horsham, PA or Titusville, NJ.
Purpose
As Associate Director, AI Marketing Enablement, you will scale the adoption of AI-powered marketing capabilities and help define how marketers work in the future. You will partner with brand teams to activate and operationalize the enterprise AI marketing roadmap, translating emerging capabilities into real-world impact. You will serve as the dedicated enablement lead for a specific therapeutic area (e.g., IMM, ONC, NS), driving how AI marketing capabilities are adopted and applied across its brands. This role requires curiosity, experimentation, and a bias for action in a fast-evolving space. Success in this role requires strong strategic thinking, influence without authority, and a passion for learning and applying new technologies.
The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating ambiguity, testing and iterating, and driving measurable impact in a highly regulated environment. This position will report to the Director, AI Marketing Innovation.
Responsibilities
Capability Design & Activation – Own the strategic design and direction of AI marketing capabilities within a specific therapeutic area; define how capabilities should be applied across brands, establishing scalable models, standards, and best practices; guide enablement and adoption by partnering with brand teams; champion adoption by demonstrating clear business value.
Identify, prioritize, and scale high-impact use cases that advance how AI is applied in marketing; continuously evolve capabilities using a test-and-learn mindset; monitor adoption and performance trends to identify gaps and inform optimization; translate insights into clear, strategic recommendations that drive measurable impact at scale.
Strategic Enablement & AI Evolution – Shape how AI capabilities are applied within the therapeutic area; stay up to date on the AI landscape and bring forward emerging trends, tools, and innovations; collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to prioritize and shape the future of marketing; contribute to AI governance and responsible adoption frameworks.
Cross-Functional Orchestration & External Perspective – Serve as the key connector across marketing, MLR, IT, product teams, and external partners; manage external vendors; continuously scan the external market for capabilities and tools; represent therapeutic area marketing to align capabilities with business needs; identify workflow gaps and reimagine processes to improve efficiency.
Organizational Enablement & Change Strategy – Define the team’s role and value; position the team as strategic leaders in AI marketing transformation; develop change management and capability adoption strategies in partnership with training teams; collaborate across cross-functional teams to reinforce a connected, end-to-end AI marketing ecosystem.
Qualifications / Requirements
Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
Experience & Skills: Minimum of 7-8+ years in marketing, digital marketing, marketing operations, or commercialization within pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industries. Demonstrated experience operationalizing marketing capabilities or technologies within brand teams or business units. Strong understanding of marketing workflows, content lifecycle, and campaign execution in a regulated environment. Proven ability to translate ambiguous business needs into practical, scalable solutions. Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, MLR, IT, and external partners. Demonstrated curiosity and self-driven learning in AI or digital capabilities. Ability to influence without authority and build trust across a matrixed organization. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to measure adoption and inform decisions. Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts into actionable guidance for marketers.
Preferred: Experience enabling marketing technology, digital transformation, or AI-driven initiatives; familiarity with content supply chain, MLR processes, and approval workflows; experience with external vendors or technology partners; strong understanding of marketing tools (e.g., Workfront, Adobe DAM, Figma, Veeva); experience applying generative AI tools in marketing; change management experience; pilot or rollout experience; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
