Program Manager

Responsibilities

Provide administrative and program direction for child welfare/adult services training staff.

Develop, plan, implement, and evaluate statewide training projects.

Manage training calendars and schedules.

Supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate staff.

Develop and coordinate collaborative efforts among health and human service agencies, advocacy groups, institutions, and grantee service providers for child welfare/adult services training.

Perform program development, disciplinary matters, performance improvement, and other related actions for child welfare/adult services.

Other duties as assigned.

Travel
Statewide travel required. Valid driver's license and availability of a vehicle required.

Licensure
Please note:

Applicants hired into this classification must obtain licensure as a Social Worker from the West Virginia Board of Social Work within a timeframe set by the appointing agency. Until licensure is obtained, they may not perform duties that require a licensed social worker under state law or Board regulation.

Qualifications
Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

Five (5) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in the program area or related field.

Internal Applicants:

Three (3) years within the same Department as the position being filled may substitute for the required experience.

Preferred:

Social services training experience, supervisory experience, and a Master’s Degree in Social Work.

Substitution
Additional education and related experience may substitute based on a year-for-year basis or as determined by the Office of Shared Administration Equivalency Chart.
