Responsibilities
Execution of assigned tasks and duties with focus on safe work practices, high quality precision work, and customer service orientation.
Adherence to standards and best practices acquired through training and work experience.
Learning and growing knowledge of maintenance practices and equipment performance, understanding their impact on manufacturing processes and business objectives.
Providing feedback on job assignment needs and improvement opportunities with peers and leadership.
Maintaining and troubleshooting power transmission components (bearings, pulleys, shafts, couplings, sprockets, chains, belts, motors, gearboxes), conveyance systems (pumps, piping, steam, water, air, electricity), and mechanical control systems (hydraulic and pneumatic elements).
Executing repairs of equipment causing or contributing to safety, quality, downtime or productivity issues.
Communicating findings, identifying potential causes, and recommending corrective steps to operations and maintenance leadership.
Executing proactive maintenance plans on assigned equipment:
Preventive Maintenance (PM) – inspection, measurement, component replacement on defined schedules, lubrication.
Predictive Maintenance (PdM) – inspection, measurement, data collection with PdM tools.
Condition Maintenance (CM) – repair and replacement of components identified via PM and PdM activities.
Executing assigned or scheduled work orders in support of projects and process improvement efforts critical to business objectives.
Assisting Reliability Tech A's and Leads in installation and removal of general mechanical systems.
Key Knowledge & Skills
Safety practices – LOTO, Confined Space, PPE, PIT, Fall Protection, Hoisting & Rigging, Hot Work.
Calculator and computer application – work order documentation, parts requisitioning.
Measurement units, techniques and application of appropriate tools.
Math skills – arithmetic, formulas (area, volume, etc.), conversion of measurement units.
Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics and simple sketches.
Identification and proper use of tools, focused on selection of the right tool for the assignment.
Proper storage and handling techniques for lubricants.
Knowledge of power transmission component types, terms, operation and maintenance.
Knowledge of plumbing/piping conveyance system types, terms, operation and maintenance.
Precision alignment techniques for indirectly coupled elements, including laser alignment.
Basic troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
Common cause failure modes and correction of mechanical systems.
