Summary

This Strategic Communications Specialist position is within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Human Resources Management, Strategic Partnerships and Communication Division, Washington, D.C. The role begins at a salary of $121,785 (GS‑13, Step 1) to $158,322 (GS‑13, Step 10) plus applicable locality and special pay.
Duties

Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate internal and external communication and engagement strategies, materials, and programs.
Write internal and external publications and briefs to inform audiences about CBP programs, priorities, and initiatives.
Assist with out‑year planning documentation for communication needs.
Analyze policies to identify and anticipate internal and external communication needs.
Requirements

U.S. citizen.
Residence in the United States for a minimum of three of the last five years.
Must be registered with Selective Service (if applicable).
All pre‑employment processes conducted in English.
Must pass a background investigation.
Must comply with CBP drug‑testing procedures and ethics rules.
Qualifications

At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑12 level, including planning and implementing programs, managing projects, communicating across agencies, and evaluating communication programs.
Experience may include paid, volunteer, or National Service roles that demonstrate critical competencies.
