This direct hire, full-time position is covered under the Federal Excepted Service under Title 10 United States Code, Section 1746 and Title 5, Code of Federal Regulations Schedule A, Section (h).
DUTIES
As a Supervisory Program Manager, Center Director, directs a team of Learning Directors and leads an integrated portfolio of specified learning assets to train the warfighting acquisition workforce, leveraging career knowledge, functional and cross-functional knowledge, forward‑leaning leadership, and extensive experience. Activities include but are not limited to:
- Assess requirements and subsequent development, deployment, and sustainment of assets that support the Functional Area Leader (FAL) priorities, Senior Leader priorities, and emerging workforce needs.
- In addition to leading the Center’s portfolios of assets and supervising the Center’s Learning Directors; the CD also leads the advancement of their functional area across the enterprise in concert with Deans and Department Chairs. Stays abreast of emerging policy and workforce needs as a functional expert with the capability and knowledge to lead all functional faculty. The Center Director also leads assessments of resourcing needs for their functional area across the enterprise, and leads the functional faculty pay pool.
- Communicates and coordinates with the Functional Leader, Functional Integration Teams, Working Groups and offices to lead all portfolios of assets delivering acquisition workforce competency sets, as well as informing modernization and advancement of effective acquisition policy, processes and procedures as a subject matter expert (SME) in the field representing WarU.
- Periodically assesses and reports on portfolio assets (collectively and individually) as to their currency, quality, effectiveness and relevance in coordination with Learning Directors, Learning Asset Managers, and other enterprise faculty as required.
- Identifies, approves, and communicates within WarU any course‑specific instructor certification criteria.
- Oversees student pilot readiness review for all Instructor Led Training (ILT) and Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) developments and course revisions.
- Oversees professional research to support curriculum currency, enhance the skill set, process accuracy, expertise of the learning assets, workshops and products, as well as supports the development, management and/or maintenance of case studies and scenario‑based exercises that depict realistic DoW acquisition challenges.
- Oversees competency alignment, continuous assessment, documentation and annual reporting of the currency, quality and other metrics relevant to assigned portfolio of learning assets and learning products. Guides future curriculum development and maintenance of such learning assets.
- Forecasts new asset developments ensuring alignment of learning outcomes within the FAL’s approved portfolio of competencies.
- Provides content oversight of certain learning assets under their respective portfolios.
Salary: $180,829 to $195,200 / Per Year
