Director, Power Business / Asset Management
Position Summary
In this position, you will be responsible for driving profitability and maximizing the long‑term value of a North American power generation portfolio. The role oversees asset management, financial performance, operational optimization, and market strategy across multiple power generation assets, while partnering closely with senior leadership to deliver sustainable returns.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial, operational, and contractual performance of power generation assets (solar, battery storage, thermal)
- Monitor KPIs, budgets, and actuals; lead corrective action planning
- Optimize O&M strategies and evaluate contractor performance
- Lead review and negotiation of commercial agreements, including PPAs
- Develop power market strategies to maximize revenue and manage risk
- Establish and manage safety and operational risk frameworks
- Conduct portfolio strategy and exit analyses (divestment, refinancing)
- Collaborate with cross‑functional internal teams and external stakeholders
- Lead, coach, and develop team members
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of asset management experience in the power generation industry and strong understanding of power markets and commercial contracts
- Financial modeling and valuation skills (NPV/IRR)
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Business‑level English proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or relevant master’s degree
- Experience with M&A, refinancing, or asset exit strategies
- Experience working in multicultural or international environments
- Japanese language proficiency
Location: Houston, Texas
Salary: Up to USD210,000 (DOE)
