Job Title Marketing and Communications Graduate Assistantship
Job Description The Enrollment Marketing and Communications graduate assistantship offers a Mercer University graduate student the opportunity to gain work experience in higher education marketing and communications, apply discipline‑specific knowledge, and support the Office of Enrollment Management while pursuing an advanced degree.
Requirements Fully admitted and enrolled as a degree‑seeking student in an eligible Mercer University graduate program (e.g., MBA, MEd in Higher Education Leadership, MSTCM)
Successfully complete the graduate assistantship application and interview process
Maintain a full‑time, graduate‑level course load in each term of employment
Maintain good academic standing for the duration of the academic program
Complete the graduate program of study and the assistantship within one academic year
Benefits and Terms Minimum 20 hours per week of part‑time employment for the length of the program
Scholarship covering graduate tuition and required fees, university housing, campus meal plan, and a monthly stipend for books and incidentals throughout the program
Potential for part‑time course load or extension of the assistantship with approval of the Executive Vice President for Enrollment Management
Duties and Responsibilities Social Media Support Field questions from social media interns
Review and provide feedback on social content produced by interns and staff
Expand on social ideas/concepts provided by the team
Ensure social interns are posting assignments on time with accuracy
Add content to the social media calendar
Explore ways to leverage social media analytics to expand reach and better tailor content to prospective students and other audiences

Event Support Create, edit, and print materials for admissions events
Design and edit presentations for admissions events
Create and edit graphics for event pages or event A/V

Graphic Design Choose/crop photos and create/edit graphics for web, emails, Slate CRM, social media, admissions blog, videos, presentations, etc.
Create/edit materials for postcards, handouts, and other printed materials
Manage logos/graphics for branded products
Assist with transferring presentation content from PowerPoint into Canva
Assist in developing templates for presentations, social media stories, graphics, flyers, etc., within Canva

General Marketing and Communications Support Reach out to faculty, staff, and current students to gather testimonials needed for various projects
Coordinate student or alumni photo shoots
Assist with taking headshots for enrollment management and admissions marketing testimonial

Schedule Minimum 20 hours per week; scheduled hours: 25 per week.
