We are seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Director of Sales to lead occupancy growth and community outreach efforts for a senior living community. This position is responsible for driving sales strategy, building referral partnerships, managing the resident sales process, and delivering an exceptional experience for prospective residents and families.
The ideal candidate is a compassionate, results-oriented leader with strong consultative sales skills and a proven ability to develop meaningful relationships while achieving occupancy and revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sales and outreach plans to achieve occupancy goals
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial inquiry through move-in coordination
- Conduct community tours and personalized presentations for prospective residents and families
- Maintain and manage a consistent pipeline of leads and opportunities
- Monitor occupancy trends and develop action plans to maximize census growth
Marketing & Brand Development
- Develop and execute local marketing initiatives to increase community visibility and lead generation
- Coordinate digital marketing efforts, social media engagement, advertising campaigns, and community outreach activities
- Partner with corporate marketing teams and outside vendors to ensure brand consistency
- Develop promotional materials, events, and campaigns designed to increase community awareness
- Monitor marketing performance metrics and return on investment for campaigns and initiatives
Community Outreach & Business Development
- Build and maintain referral relationships with healthcare providers, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, physicians, case managers, and community organizations
- Represent the community at networking events, outreach initiatives, and local programs
- Develop marketing partnerships that increase community awareness and lead generation
Relationship Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor for prospective residents and families during the decision-making process
- Ensure timely follow-up and ongoing communication throughout the sales journey
- Provide a high-touch, service-oriented experience that reflects the community’s values
Reporting & Performance Management
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales activity reporting
- Track inquiry sources, conversion rates, and sales metrics
- Prepare forecasts and provide updates to executive leadership
- Collaborate with Operations and Marketing teams to support community goals
- Partner with Executive Director and department leaders to ensure a smooth resident transition and move-in experience
- Support resident engagement and retention initiatives
- Participate in strategic planning and community events
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of sales experience in senior living or assisted living
- Proven success achieving sales and occupancy goals
- Strong networking and relationship-building abilities
- Excellent communication, presentation, and consultative sales skills
- Proficiency with CRM systems and sales reporting tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, or Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) environments
- Existing referral relationships within the local market
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
