Overview Condé Nast is seeking a Performance Social Media Designer to lead paid social creative, focusing on assembling and storyboarding high-performance ads using existing footage, brand elements, and campaign concepts.
Key Responsibilities Ad Storyboarding & Mapping: Translate high-level campaign concepts into detailed, frame-by-frame storyboards for Meta and other platforms.
Creative Testing & Adaptation: Execute sprints of ad variations, testing multiple hooks, CTAs, and edit speeds to identify resonating versions.
Platform Translation: Reshape core narratives to feel native to specific placements (e.g., converting Meta ads into lo‑fi, creator‑style TikTok storyboards).
Conversion-Driven Motion: Design and animate functional graphics such as text overlays, kinetic captions, and price/offer animations to drive clicks.
The “Hook” Lab: Participate in concepting sessions to pitch new visual hooks and angles based on platform trends and performance insights.
Template & Toolkit Evolution: Build and manage a library of reusable layouts, typography styles, and motion presets for efficient plug‑in of new assets.
Performance-Based Tweaks: Apply data‑driven insights to improve existing ads, adjusting opening moments or rearranging key information for maximum engagement.
Skills & Qualifications 3–5 years experience in a social‑first design or agency environment focused on paid media/performance creative.
Strong visual storytelling: Ability to storyboard a 15‑second narrative capturing attention in the first 3 seconds.
Editing & Motion proficiency: Solid skills in Premiere/After Effects for short‑form ad patterns.
Conversion mindset: Design fundamentals with emphasis on clarity over cleverness to drive sales.
Agile & collaborative: Comfortable working in an iterative sprint environment where ideas are tested, killed, or scaled weekly.
Technical precision: Meticulous eye for platform specs, aspect ratios, and UI‑safe designs across all social channels.
Compensation & Benefits The expected base salary range for this position is $62,000 – $90,000, plus a generous employee benefits package and the potential for discretionary bonus compensation.
