Position Information
Position Title: Student Event Crew

Academic Year: 2025-2026

Position Summary
The Student Event Crew assists with events held in the Luella Bennack Music Center, primarily within the Concert Hall and Ingrid Seddon Recital Hall. This includes various types of events including concerts, recitals, lectures, and rehearsals. The Student Event Crew reports to the Music Secretary / Venue Manager.

This is a student position open to current UIW undergraduate students in the Department of Music.

Essential Functions
Essential functions include:

Setting up and breaking down venue spaces.

Passing out programs.

Monitoring areas around the venue.

Welcoming patrons and audience.

Reminding the audience that no food or drink is allowed inside the hall.

Monitoring doors to only allow entrance and exit during the applause and other appropriate moments.

Upon request, assisting audience members to proper seating areas.

Sweeping through rows after the event to pick up leftover programs/trash.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate both written and verbally.

Ability to works well under pressure.

Ability to adapt from fast to slow pace.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Ability to scan the room and spot prohibited items.

Must be able to show up for shift on time.

Knowledge of music etiquette.

Familiarity with music performance.

Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.

Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
Must be a current UIW undergraduate student.

Required Work Experience
None.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working events.

Advanced knowledge of classical music.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
None.

Work Hours
Varies depending on venue needs. Typically weeknights and weekends. High volume during November/December and April/May.

Physical Demands

Must stand for long periods.

Ability be aware of surroundings and look/listen for hazards.
