Role Description
This is a full-time, Business Development Manager role based in West Chicago, IL, with flexibility for partial work from home. The Business Development Manager will identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities with e-commerce brands that can benefit from Zipscale’s fulfillment and marketing services. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting through outbound outreach, responding to inbound leads, conducting discovery calls, and preparing tailored proposals and pricing. The role involves managing the sales pipeline in a CRM system, coordinating with operations and marketing teams to design client solutions, and presenting Zipscale’s value proposition to decision-makers. The Business Development Manager will also negotiate contracts, support smooth handoffs to account management, track performance against targets, and provide feedback on market trends and customer needs.
Qualifications
Business development, sales, or account management experience in logistics, e-commerce, or related B2B services.
Demonstrated skills in lead generation, prospecting, and pipeline management using CRM tools.
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities with comfort speaking to senior decision-makers.
Analytical skills to interpret client requirements, pricing structures, and performance data to develop tailored solutions.
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple opportunities at once.
Familiarity with e-commerce operations, order fulfillment, and shipping cost optimization is highly beneficial.
Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and a strong customer-focused mindset.
