Digital Content Creator (Public Information Specialist)
Salary: $44,296 – $54,263 per year. Position level: P1 – Professional. Location: Aiken, SC. Work schedule: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Lead planning, scheduling, and daily management of official social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube). Maintain editorial calendars aligned with institutional priorities and campaigns.

Develop original platform‑appropriate content including copy, graphics, short‑form video, and multimedia storytelling. Collaborate with videographers, photographers, and campus contributors to produce assets that highlight programs, people, and impact.

Assist the creative team with basic design and production needs, adapting assets for digital use and supporting broader marketing initiatives.

Track performance metrics, evaluate engagement trends, and prepare regular reports with insights and recommendations. Apply findings to improve reach, effectiveness, and ROI.

Coordinate with students, interns, or social media ambassadors; provide direction, training, and quality control.

Monitor comments, tags, and direct messages; provide customer‑service‑oriented responses, troubleshoot issues, and support crisis and reputation management protocols.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements : Bachelor's degree in a job‑related field and at least 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications : Social media campaign design and development.

Skills & Abilities : Excellent computer skills in word processing and social media management tools; excellent interpersonal, written communication, and organizational skills; ability to travel occasionally and work evenings and weekends.
