Job Description
The qualified candidate for Account Manager will have long‑term career goals within pharmaceutical congress and medical meeting and event management with the intent of maintaining and growing business, and managing an account team as it pertains to assigned accounts. They will be equipped with the experience and motivation to consult strategically with pharma clients to promote Unbridled services, develop business within the client account and expand Unbridled’s exposure to other new business. The position focuses on domestic and international pharmaceutical clients and requires an understanding of the lifecycle of commercial meetings on a global scale, HCP/customer engagement meetings, and congresses.
Successful Candidates Qualifications
7+ Years domestic and international meeting or event planning experience, including the management & oversight of:
Pharma congress management experience
Consult clients on strategic congress planning and management
Experience in US and international congresses, satellite symposia, and exhibitions
On‑site operation including staff management at large‑scale congress events
Thorough understanding of hotel spend caps, regulatory codes, HCP, EFPIA, and pharma code
Thorough understanding of regulatory sign‑off within a healthcare company
Understanding of HCP reporting and reimbursements
Familiar with the lifecycle to drug development and congress strategy alignment
Familiar with the cadence of pharmaceutical meetings and congresses
Know the acronyms and terms used in pharmaceutical companies
Managed high‑volume accounts with a combination of long and short lead times
Hotel contract negotiation
Hotel sourcing through Cvent
Menu planning in a regulated environment
Meeting space management / Ancillary Meeting Space Management
Budget creation and management
Cost savings tracking
Quarterly and EOY Reporting
Vendor management
Attendee registration
Rooming list management
Transportation/manifest management
Agenda design, content, production services and video production
Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Database Management
Expert level proficiency working within Cvent
Effective, professional business communication skills – written, presentation, client contact
Ability to manage a team of employees and oversee teams on larger or complex client‑specific projects while effectively delegating tasks
Travel savvy – ability to travel 1–2 weeks per month (on average, actual travel varies based on client requirements)
Preferred Qualifications
Industry Affiliations – MPI, PCMA, SITE, others
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strategic global client relationships with pharma congress stakeholders while delivering high quality.
Ensure health of client accounts.
Develop account standards and processes while holding team accountability.
Maintain and grow account business and actively participate in renewal process.
Ensure quality performance of project teams assigned to specific projects.
Communicate with clients at all levels of organizations, written and conversational.
Financial responsibilities:
Ensure budget accuracy and integrity.
Create program budgets.
Participate in program reconciliation.
Ensure comprehensive understanding of client financial objectives year over year.
Develop and maintain and be responsible for fiscal forecast for each account assigned.
Understand MSAs and SOWs.
Oversee online registration process and website development.
Actively work in Cvent to drive forward planning strategy.
Delegate tasks such as rooming list management while maintaining quality standards.
Ensure program resume is created and accurate.
On‑site staffing management, maintaining standards of service and image.
End‑of‑year reporting to include summary of congresses booked, destinations, number of attendees, cost per program by deliverable, cost savings, etc.
Must embody the Unbridled brand and culture, including character, change, credibility, and community.
