About the Role

Independently lead advanced electrical design for complex midstream oil and gas projects. Project assignments will include designing electrical, instrument and control drawings. Will report to Manager, Electrical Designer.

What You Will Do

Able to develop complex electrical, instrument and control drawings to fit unique project situations using kahuna pre-developed tools coordinating with experienced designers and receiving limited direction from engineers/ client.

Ability to independently assist with and review drawings of other less experienced designers and markup as necessary to represent a functional design while coordinating with other experienced designers and engineers. Able to mentor and train more experienced drafters/ designers.

Ability to do advanced 3D modeling using kahuna pre-developed tools with no guidance and able to lead team model reviews.

Independently lead and manage electrical design portion of large projects or multiple mid-size/small projects while coordinating with designers, engineers, and clients.

Advanced understanding of electrical theory and ability to use NEC code book.

Advanced understanding of industrial components and equipment.

Lead development of group standards practices, and proactively lead evolution of team designs and predeveloped tools/templates with basic knowledge using V-lisp and CUI recommended.

Demonstrate full understanding of the workflow from beginning to end of a project and provides technical and administrative support to the discipline design group, reviews their progress, and evaluates their work.

Manages coordination with other design teams to ensure continuous flow of information concerning other engineering disciplines effecting the design execution of a project.

Demonstrate advanced ability to functionally communicate technical and administrative project/task details, including correspondence via emails and general documentation.

Organize and prepare drawings for delivery maintaining security and confidentiality in a timely manner. Be able to joggle multiple large projects with conflicting deadlines, identify how to adjust priorities and stay proactive.

Understand and be able to operate and generate Navisworks Freedom/Manage/Simulate, allowing for integration between engineering and design, and lead model reviews as necessary for assigned projects.

Demonstrate professional behavior around clients and vendors and be able to coach and mentor least experienced drafters/designers.

What You'll Bring

Must be a self-starter with initiative, hard worker who can work independently and at the same time effectively oversee and manage work of other drafters/designers.

Demonstrates advanced understanding of engineering specifications and is aware of applicable codes, materials, and their impact on design.

Must be detailed oriented, precise, organized in handling of drawings and able to prioritize and multitask as individual and for the team.

Typically has 10-15 years of progressive relevant design experience or equivalent; 8 years minimum required.

High School diploma or equivalent and community college drafting/CAD courses preferred.

Strong computer, 3D modeling skills and proficient in Microsoft office, Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD®, Navisworks, Bluebeam Revu, and other Company software.
