Transmission Software Controls Engineer (Automatic Transmission)Duration: Long term contract (w2)Pay: $42.00-44/hrPosition OverviewResponsible for the development and ownership of multiple automatic transmission software features. This role manages requirements, coordinates validation activities, supports issue resolution, and ensures high-quality software delivery following established development and quality processes.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and manage multiple automatic transmission software features/componentsGather, manage, and track requirements and change requestsCoordinate validation activities with HIL and calibration teamsAct as the single point of contact (SPOC) for issue triage and resolutionDevelop and maintain software releases, including all required documentation (test reports, DVMs, calibration guides, etc.)Model feature functions using MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow and auto-generate production-ready C codeDevelop and execute unit tests to verify software functionality against requirementsUtilize JIRA for issue tracking, requirements management, and documentationCreate interface specifications across cross-functional systems and teamsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize solutions for complexity, tunability, and testability in alignment with Ford software guidelinesRequired Qualifications4+ years developing automatic transmission controls using C, MATLAB/Simulink, and StateflowAutomatic transmission systems (design or calibration experience preferred)Agile software development methodologies (1+ year)Software testing and validation (2+ years), including coverage metrics (MC/DC, decision, line coverage)MATLAB and MATLAB modeling (2+ years)Simulink (2+ years; modeling, design, and simulation)C programming (2+ years)Bachelor's DegreePreferred QualificationsExperience developing powertrain controls (engine or transmission) within Ford's software environmentFamiliarity with automotive calibration tools (ATI Vision, Vector CANoe)Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Copilot) to support engineering tasks and productivityAdditional InformationHybrid schedule: 4 days onsite per weekStrong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills requiredBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision401(k) plan with employee contribution opportunitiesPaid time off, including holidays529 college savings programEEO StatementImpellam Group and its brands are equal-opportunity employers committed to diversity and inclusion.
