Provide audio-visual support for events across The Corning Museum of Glass (Museum), ensuring all AV needs are delivered, maintained, and functioning effectively. Work under the direction of the Events Production and Program Manager (EPPM) to assist with inventory management of AV equipment, including backup supplies. Act as the primary daily point of contact for temporary production technicians.RESPONSIBILITIESTechnical Production SupportProvide full technical support for events, including setup, operation, troubleshooting, and teardown of audio-visual, lighting, and staging systemsMaintain all event space systems (audio, lighting, projection, screens, and staging equipment), ensuring functionality and addressing repair or upgrade needsAssist with inventory control and coordinate equipment logistics, including external vendor rentals and staging requirementsPerform routine maintenance and assist with upgrades of technical equipment and systemsContribute to development and maintenance of standard operating procedures and training documentationEvent Execution & Client SupportCollaborate with event planners, internal teams, and clients to support event execution, technical requirements, and overall event flowAssist event clients with preparation and execution of presentation materialsRespond to client and team inquiries in a professional, timely, and solution-oriented manner before, during, and after eventsAudio / Video / Lighting OperationsDeliver high-quality audio, video, and lighting execution, including live mixing and system operationTroubleshoot technical issues across audio, video, and lighting systems during eventsDemonstrate working knowledge of audio systems (including Dante), video signal flow, and lighting control systems (including DMX and grandMA)Stage and Production SupportSupport stage production needs including rigging, truss work, soft goods, and stage decking setup and strikeCoordinate with internal and external crews to ensure smooth execution of production elementsOperate production intercom systems and support overall backstage communicationTeam CoordinationServe as day-to-day point of contact for temporary production technicians, providing coordination, guidance, and supportGeneralActively and intentionally support the Museum's commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion.Actively support the Museum's Advancement initiatives.Adhere to all safety regulations to ensure a safe and healthy environment for events and staffSafeguard and maintain control of organizational assets, minimizing risk of loss or damageHandle customer and vendor proprietary information with strict confidentialityStay current with industry trends and advancements in audio-visual technologyMaintain flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet job requirementsActively participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and solutions to support event successCollaborate as a member of cross-functional teams and work groups, as neededEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in audio-visual technology or a related field preferredMinimum of five (5) years' experience supporting live events, with strong expertise in audio-visual and lighting systemsHands‑on experience setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of audio-visual equipmentProficiency with Microsoft Office and cloud-based platforms (Office 365, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams) and ability to quickly learn new softwareStrong communication skills with experience providing clear updates on projects, repairs, and support activitiesExperience creating training materials and delivering end‑user trainingSKILLS AND ABILITIESUphold the Museum's mission, vision, and values while representing the organization professionally in all interactionsAdhere to organizational and departmental policies and proceduresManage multiple priorities and deadlines with flexibility, resourcefulness, and a solution-oriented approachBuild and maintain strong professional relationships with colleagues, volunteers, and external stakeholdersDeliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, high-demand environmentWork independently and collaboratively, providing clear communication and consistent updatesHandle sensitive and confidential information with discretionMaintain a flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidaysPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTThe physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The work environment is frequently working near moving mechanical parts and high precarious places. The work environment is occasionally indoors not climate controlled, odors, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions (events), extreme heat (filming hot glass shows).
