Sales Operations Manager, Sampling Program

As the Sales Operations Manager, Sampling Program you play a critical role in accelerating new customer starts by ensuring Insulet products' sampling programs are seamless, compliant, and aligned with broader commercial initiatives. You will own the end-to-end sampling experiencefrom understanding HCP and patient needs to managing vendors, systems, and analyticsto drive measurable improvements in new customer starts (NCS) and demonstrate clear ROI.

Responsibilities
Oversee & Enhance Sampling Roadmap
Own a dynamic roadmap of program enhancements, new product configurations, system updates, and process innovations
Prioritize initiatives based on impact to NCS, operational efficiency, and alignment with product offerings
Adapt to evolving business needs by taking on ad-hoc projects that advance sampling excellence
Document Business & User Needs
Study and capture HCP requirementsstreamlining ordering, delivery, and initial use of product samples
Define patient needs across various segments to ensure the program supports a positive first experience
Partner with marketing and sales to align sampling processes with product launch and promotional strategies
Interpret legal and compliance requirements, and embed user-friendly mechanisms to maintain regulatory adherence
Manage Vendor Relationships
Serve as primary business contact for sampling distribution vendorsmanaging performance, contract terms, and SLAs
Source and evaluate alternate partners to scale capacity and mitigate risk
Lead and Manage Sampling Analysts
Set clear priorities and direction for direct reports, ensuring alignment with business and functional goals
Mentor and develop analysts to grow both technical expertise and execution skills
Build a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability
Oversee Program Operations & Systems
Direct sampling analyst(s) to resolve inventory, ordering, and delivery issues promptly
Own backend systems (HCP targeting, demand planning, inventory management, sales allocation)
Troubleshoot operational blockers and provide field-sales support to maximize program uptime
Collaborate Cross-functionally
Collaborate with sales analytics to track all sampling metrics and identify areas for continuous improvement
Work with finance to quantify and report on sampling ROI, ensuring business cases remain robust and transparent
Partner with downstream marketing and training to educate field sales on sampling processes, compliance, and best practices
Communicate program updates, workflows, and performance insights to global stakeholders
Skills and Competencies
Strong ability to facilitate interviews or voice of customer sessions to understand and document the needs of internal and external customers
Proven ability to identify and define business questions and issues and develop strategic, analytical and financial frameworks to conduct analysis
Proven leadership ability to manage, coach, and develop high-performing teams in a dynamic, data-driven environment
Ability to work in a deadline focused, dynamic environment, consistently producing timely and accurate deliverables
Ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models, and technologies
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
Strong computer and data analysis skills

particularly Excel, Word, & PowerPoint products in addition to visualization tools such as Tableau
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (preferred field of study: Business, Finance, or related field)
6+ years of experience in product management or program management
3+ years of experience managing direct reports and leading teams
Preferred
MBA
Experience in product management or program management with medical device, pharma or consumer products
Physical Requirements
Location: Hybrid, or On-site at Acton, MA Headquarters
Travel requirements: Estimated at 15% but will flex depending on business need
NOTE: This position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements and requires on-site work from an Insulet office at least three (3) days per week.
Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $105,300.00 - $157,950.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
