Duties
Advises senior GHSD, Department, and other United States Government (U.S.G.) agency officials on cross-cutting policy issues and problems that have an impact on international health positions within the incumbent's portfolio.
Collaborates with regional bureaus, GHSD offices, the Office of the Legal Adviser and posts in reviewing and drafting positions, legislative proposals, cooperative project and bilateral agreements in the field of international health.
Ensures bilateral agreements for U.S. Government agencies are consistent with U.S. law and foreign policy objectives.
Anticipates, identifies, creates, and manages opportunities to advance U.S. international health objectives within the team portfolio consistent with the broad range of U.S. foreign policies and activities.
Supervises professional staff members drawn from the Civil Service and Foreign Service, academic fellows, interns, and excursion tours from other agencies.
Oversees global health security foreign assistance programming portfolio and makes sensitive foreign assistance programming and procurement decisions
