Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Production Technician to support polymer manufacturing operations in a fast-paced chemical production environment. This role is responsible for running polymer production batches according to established SOPs, operating and monitoring large-scale reactors up to 500 liters, performing quality control testing, and maintaining accurate production documentation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with chemical processes, safely handling hazardous materials, and maintaining high safety and quality standards. This position requires the ability to work in a chemical environment, follow strict safety procedures, and assist with equipment cleaning and maintenance to ensure efficient production operations. Candidates should be comfortable working extended shifts, including occasional weekends, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. while standing for long periods throughout the workday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Run polymer production batches according to established SOPs
Operate and monitor large reactors (up to 500 liters) safely and efficiently
Conduct quality control testing on polymer batches to ensure product meets specifications
Clean and maintain production equipment to ensure proper operation and prevent contamination
Safely handle solvents and work in a hazardous chemical environment, following strict safety guidelines
Maintain accurate documentation of production processes, test results, and materials used
Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with safety and environmental regulations
Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
Ability to work extended days (up to 12-hour shifts, e.g., 7 AM7 PM or split shifts) as needed
Willingness to work up to two weekends per month if required
Requirements:
Prior experience working in a chemical or polymer production environment preferred
Comfortable working with large reactors up to 500 liters
Hands-on experience operating chemical processes and equipment
Familiarity with handling hazardous chemicals and following safety protocols
Ability to follow written procedures and accurately document production activities
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
