Social Media Coordinator (CS26-262)
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) invites applications for the position of Social Media Coordinator (CS26-262). This role reports to the Director of Communications and involves strategizing, creating content, posting, and managing SIUE’s social media channels, monitoring account activity, and keeping the university’s social media presence engaging and innovative.

What You Will Do

Strategize for, create content, post and manage Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s social media channels based on online behavior of students, alumni, faculty, staff, community and business partners.

Monitor account activity and lead the university's efforts to remain relevant, engaging and at the leading edge of social media content that effectively tells the University’s story and communicates its culture.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.

One year of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related area.

Additional education, training and/or work experience relevant to the position may be required.

Master’s Degree may substitute for one year of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

1+ additional year of demonstrated professional experience in creative content production at a business, organization, agency or non-profit, covering social media campaigns, branding and design.

Strong writing skills.

Experience in content or digital marketing.

Experience shooting and editing spot videos for social posts.

Expertise in social media content creation, analytics, planning and innovation, and strategy for paid and organic content.
