Program Coordinator
Working under the direction of spectrUM’s Associate Director, the Program Coordinator oversees the operations of spectrUM’s seasonal group programs, including clubs, camps, birthday parties, and field trips, and supports science programming at EmPower Place. This position is highly collaborative, and dedicated to creating exciting, hands‑on educational experiences with each program. This position works with a high level of autonomy and is responsible for program scheduling, educator training and supervision, marketing coordination, stakeholder communication, and materials organization. The position is based at spectrUM’s museum in the Missoula Public Library, and is approximately 30% administrative and 70% direct program management.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated experience working with children.
Demonstrated experience working with the public.
Minimum of two years’ experience in a formal or informal learning environment.
Demonstrated experience with time management, project coordination and scheduling.
Demonstrated experience in management and supervision of staff.
Experience with Microsoft 365 or comparable software, internet, email, and databases.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others to develop and oversee programs.
Ability to represent spectrUM professionally to external audiences and partners.
Ability to inspire fun and passion in others.
Ability to prioritize and adapt multiple tasks simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve problems autonomously.
Strong written and verbal professional communication.
Positive demeanor and ability to generate creative solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
College degree in science or education.
Experience developing educational activities and media.
Experience working on collaborative projects with many partners.
Science museum, or related informal education experience.

Employment Details
Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 12 months/year. Probationary Period: Six (6) months minimum.
