Duties
Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for DLA Training in Section 508 compliance, copyright law and regulations, and the Plain Writing Act of 2010.
Performs editorial reviews on all documents and deliverables for spelling, grammar, and consistency.
Determines and verifies all content is tagged and that tagged elements are properly sequenced and applied.
Reviews document layout, design, structure, formatting, tables, and charts for PDFs, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint files and multi‐media products.
Develops, prepares, and conducts workshops and training sessions for Enterprise‑wide personnel on presentations, copyright law, alternative text, color contrast, and Section 508 compliance.

Qualifications
To qualify for an Editor (508 Compliance), applicants must demonstrate:
One year of specialized experience directly related to this position, equivalent to GS‑11 level or above, with a history of time‑in‑grade and competitive appointment.
Conducting comprehensive reviews of complex training publications.
Performing advanced editorial evaluations of training deliverables, applying expert knowledge of grammar, structure, and content analysis.
Designing and delivering enterprise‑wide workshops on Section 508, copyright, alternative text, and content development.
Creating standardized templates to improve instructional material quality and efficiency.
Technical knowledge: expert‑level in Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 compliance; advanced multimedia communication capabilities; strategic advisory skills to align accessible training products with DLA and DoD mission requirements.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
Additional Information
