Job Overview
Hotel: Nashville-Vanderbilt (Dwtn) (BNAVB), 2613 W End Ave, 37203, Nashville, TN

Iconic Holiday Inn Vanderbilt—historic, hip, refined, relaxed—offers a full-service environment for corporate and leisure travelers located just 12 miles from Nashville International Airport.

Responsibilities

Establish and grow a client base of individuals, organizations, associations, social, and corporate businesses through inside and outside selling.

Actively prospect, qualify, and secure new business to meet or exceed room night sales and revenue goals.

Negotiate guest room rates, meeting and banquet space rentals, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines.

Accurately produce and review sales contracts, rate agreements, and banquet/catering event orders.

Handle inquiry calls and provide client proposals in accordance with departmental policies.

Coordinate with hotel departments to deliver agreed-upon services and disseminate information as needed.

Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off‑site presentations for prospective clients.

Maintain client files and update information daily while producing monthly sales reports and forecasts.

Attend and represent the hotel at trade shows, conventions, and sales trips to key feeder markets.

Follow up with clients during and after stay to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings.

Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with all hotel departments.

Assist in developing and implementing sales plans and participate in the annual budgeting and planning process as required.

Perform other duties as assigned and serve as manager on duty when needed.

Qualifications

Some college education with 1–2 years of sales or marketing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred: related degree and prior hotel sales experience.

Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

Strong communication, reading, writing, mathematical, and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to travel as required for workshops, tradeshows, and conventions.

Valid driver’s license may be required; willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical and Skill Requirements

Frequently stand or move within and outside the facility.

Carry or lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variance analysis.

Organizational, training, and motivational abilities.
